When nearly 40 people showed up at our February 2008 meeting at Machines With Magnets the Steering Committee recognized that there was a real need to keep the conversation going in between group meetings. We hope that this blog can serve this purpose. We have always tried to let our members guide our action – that’s how we came up with our organizational intent: “to improve the downtown experience by focusing on economic revitalization, public safety, beautification and celebrations of the diverse culture and life of Pawtucket” – and we have high hopes that a blog can help keep us on mission.

The PADS Steering Committee will continue to maintain a web site but this blog is the place where you, the PADS membership, can contribute your thoughts, observations, opinions, or even downtown events listings. We ask that the same spirit of respectful dialogue that applies in our meetings apply on this site. Happy blogging!

It’s great to see that PADS has a blog – what a great idea! Does anyone know more about the proposed antiques district? Are there going to be more shops opening downtown?

Great idea to have a blog! Kudos!

This is an election year, let’s ask these questions (posed by previous blogger) to the candidates and see what they say. We realize a downtown does not get populated in a day, but there needs to be a plan, something visible that let’s people know something is happening. “Burgeoning” denotes something that is happening and mostly likely soon–let’s burgeon already!
